Knowledge center
On Sendbird Dashboard, you can enhance your AI chatbot by adding various knowledge sources. These can include URLs, files, or connections with platforms like Notion, Google Drive, or Salesforce, allowing you to import relevant information directly into your AI chatbot. The chatbot will refer to these sources when generating responses.
Knowledge source limit per plan
The following table shows limits based on your AI chatbot plan.

- Uploading limit: Maximum number of files, URLs, or connection pages you can upload to your application's Knowledge center.
- Connection limit: Maximum number of sources you can connect to your AI chatbot at once.
Adding a knowledge source
- Log in to your Sendbird Dashboard.
- Go to Application > AI chatbot > Knowledge center on your Sendbird Dashboard. This is where you can add, delete, and manage your knowledge sources.
- Click on Add source +. A pop-up window will appear, giving you options to choose the type of source you want to add. Here are the following types of resources you can add:
Types of sources
Type | Description |
---|---|
URL | Select this option to add a web link as a source. Useful for fetching updated content from web pages. |
File | Choose this to upload files or documents from your computer. Ideal for static content. |
Notion | Use this option to import pages from Notion as sources if you utilize Notion for documentation or data storage. |
Google Drive | Connect your Google Drive to access documents. Useful for utilizing shared files or documents in your chatbot. |
Salesforce | This option allows you to integrate Salesforce to access data like customer information or sales data, beneficial for support or sales chatbots. |
Once you're done uploading sources for your application, you need to connect them to your AI chatbot. See the next section for more information.
Connecting sources to your AI chatbot

Make sure you have an AI chatbot set up
If your bot isn't set up yet, navigate to AI chatbot > Bot Studio > Create bot+ and follow the setup instructions. -
Link Knowledge sources to your chatbot
In the Bot Studio, under the Knowledge source tab, select the sources you want to connect to your chatbot. The bot will only respond with information from these sources.
This is what it should look like when the selected knowledge sources are successfully connected.
- Set up Advanced settings
- Weekly auto-update: Available for Pro and Enterprise plans. This feature automatically refetches data from connected URLs each week to ensure your knowledge base is always up-to-date.
- Additional instruction for knowledge base: Customize the system prompts to better define the chatbot's responsibilities, responses, and limitations. This helps ensure your chatbot operates effectively within its intended scope. You can click on Show default prompt to see the original system prompts.
- Once you're all set, click Apply changes to save your settings.
